From time to time one of the tasks that will inevitably come up on any vehicle is windscreen wiper replacement.
On Bertha, and therefore also on any Fiat Ducato based Campervan or motorhome of a similar age this is a relatively simple task. The good news is the mechanism for attaching the wipers to the arms is a simple click to release one. Not, as is sometimes the case one that requires a degree in physics to work out what angle you need to be inserting them from, and how you need to twist, pull and everything else.
The wiper blades fitted to the Fiat Ducato 2008 are the following sizes

As show below the method for replacing them is simple. Simply press down the ‘button’ circled in the first photo. As you can see in the second photo you can then simply slide the wiper blade off to the right.
What Wiper Blade Is The Best?
Based on 20+ years of personal experience doing maintenance on my own vehicles I always opt for Bosch wiper blades. I find with them you get a good balance of quality, longevity and price. Yes you can buy cheaper but they don’t seem to work or fit as well as a general rule. Or, for that matter last as long.
Should you buy OEM wipers from the vehicle manufacturer? In my opinion no. They almost always cost more and you don’t get anything extra for it. Quite often they are simply the Bosch or Valeo blades in a Fiat (or other brand) packet.
Everyone you ask will have an opinion on the topic, and it is just that, an opinion. Technically no one is right or wrong as the criteria for everyone will be slightly different. My simple advice would be to not buy the cheapest and spend a small amount more to get a better brand. There are many good brands out there to chose from so pick one you recognise at a price you are happy to pay.
